The Smell of Lavender

This study was about human anatomy and trying to shade skin realistically. The body is a sketch drawn from life and the skin was shaded partially from life and partially from how I thought the light would act. This drawing has a lot of mistakes, and shows how much I still have to learn about anatomy and the behavior of light. The skin color choices I made are the only thing I think I did alright on, I had to pull colors from the background to make the painting look unified (so the skin has green, purple and pink). The background was me just fooling around with the grass brush, which I never use, and the smudge tool. The texture that was created was what I imagine it would look like if we could see aromas.
